Free SEO Advice

I like free things just like everybody else. However, I recognize that when something is free it likely comes with some caveats. For example, the free blog SEO review I offer is limited in scope. I'll happily give you some tips to improve your blog, but you're not going to get the attention I would give to a paying customer. You can't blame me for that, can you?

Offering free advice, SEO or others can have the negative effect of devaluing one's skills and knowledge. Once you've set the precedent, the people you're working with expect more free services or at best heavily discounted services. It's a never-ending spiral that I used to get sucked in to back when I started out as an independent consultant.

Nowadays I know better than to offer much of my time for free. And where I used to feel guilt saying no to someone, I know understand that it's just business. The requester is simply trying to get the price in the same way that I'm trying to make the most money. Saying no isn't insulting and any professional business person won't take it personally. Instead, they'll either move on and completely forget about you or they'll show their true interest in your services and begin the negotiation process.

So if you want free SEO advice out of me, sorry but you won't get it. Of course, I'm always open to barters. I can almost always use graphic design help and I would happily exchange my SEO expertise for it.

Hello, I am searching for some seo assistance and was referred to your blog by some forum post I read somewhere recently. Let me outline specifically what I would like help with, and you can tell me #1) if this is acceptable seo strategy which you would recommend and #2) your proposal on aiding me implement it in the best way possible and what you could do for me to make sure it's the best way possible, perhaps consulting by hour is good, I'm open to suggestions.

Here is what I would like to do, which I admit is a little on “creative” side and perhaps tad risky, but I wouldn't say it's a spam, but you may think otherwise

My idea is to create a large network of blogs on blogger.com, each blog would focus on keyword that my website wishes to rank for. And I would each day create content for that blog and at end write 1 sentence using the keyword that this blog is focused on and it would link to MY MAIN website to a page focused exclusively for the keyword of this blog. So each day I get a anchor text link for that keyword, and google views this blog as very topical theme for that keyword, granted this blog won't have high rankings, but if it has 100's of pages each including in title for that keyword I would think google would view that site as very good link if it's linking to my page about that link.

Additionally, with large network I can work partnerships with other companies of course with linking strategies, if I have 100+ blogs there is a lot that can be done.

I am not in position to take a chance at getting my site banned, but I see all the time website blogs that have site wide links on side of page and google counts those links. All I want to do is do it better, and use the keywords in anchor text link and make it more focused on keyword. Also companies have their own blogs and give themselves links at end of each blog as well. So just because I want to have a lot of blogs, should I be penalized.

Please let me know how you can assist me, or if you think this is bad idea, I will respect your opinion and maybe you can recommend another way that's better which I'm open to.

    Thanks
