You don't get many people relating their disappointment with major webmaster conferences. And so I found the following commentary amusing. Maybe it's because I was bitter at not attending...
"Well, I intended to blog from Pubcon, but that is not meant to be. To me, "live blogging" is blogging not typing. "Recording" or typing sessions almost verbatim is not in my view "blogging". When Jill Whalen, during the SEO 101 session said she hadn’t launched a new URL in a while, and asked if there is still a delay in getting new sites indexed, it was probably typed and posted by one of those "live bloggers" with press passes. But it could have been blogged, and maybe like this:
"When Jill Whalen asked if there was still a delay in getting new sites indexed, because she hadn’t launched anything new in a while, I wondered what was being covered in the sessions in the other rooms."
"But I can’t do that because the WiFi doesn’t work. Oh, I’m sure the $4.95 per hour WiFi probably works, but I didn’t come to a $900 webmaster conference to pay $4.95 for web access. And I didn’t rush through my yummy boxed lunch just to go to a Starbucks so i could post negative posts about PubCon, either."
Ahhhh, now I feel better about not going
